William C. Harrington (1942 - 2020) was a painter and sculptor from Chicago, Illinois, who worked in the Chicago Imagist movement. Harrington is known for his creation of grotesque and surreal pieces heavily influenced by his time fighting in Vietnam for the United States, a position which proved highly influential; traumatic and ultimately inspirational.
Harrington’s art was discovered after his death, and proves representative of a highly important movement in American Contemporary art, as well as political art in the United States; particularly poignant when viewed during the United State’s current political and global unrest.
